Join Us June 1st for Our PANS/PANDAS Support Meet Up
At Well Mind Body Integrative Psychotherapy & Wellness, we know how isolating and overwhelming it can feel to navigate PANS/PANDAS and related neuroimmune conditions. Families are often left trying to piece together information, advocate for their children, and manage the emotional impact these diagnoses can have on the entire family system. That is why creating spaces for connection, education, and support matters so deeply.

Be the Boss of Your Technology: Empowering 5th Grade Girls to Use Tech in Healthy Ways
This past weekend, I had the absolute privilege of hosting a “Be the Boss of Your Technology” workshop for a group of 5th grade girls and their moms. In a world where technology is woven into nearly every aspect of childhood, friendships, learning, and identity development, these conversations feel more important than ever.
Confident Girls Summer Group: Helping Girls Build Confidence, Friendship Skills, and Emotional Strength
The middle school years can be exciting, but they can also be one of the most emotionally challenging stages of development for girls. Friendships begin to change, social pressures increase, and many girls start to question themselves in ways they never have before.
Our Confident Girls Summer Group at Well Mind Body Integrative Psychotherapy & Wellness was created to help girls navigate this stage with greater confidence, resilience, and emotional awareness.
Led by Zoe Sheehan, LPC-Associate, a therapist who specializes in working with children and teens, this small group offers a supportive and engaging environment where girls can learn important life skills alongside peers their age.
Over three mornings, girls will participate in interactive activities, discussions, and skill-building exercises designed to help them better understand themselves and feel more confident navigating friendships, stress, and everyday challenges.

Supporting Immigrant Communities in Minnesota: A Guide to Compassionate Resources
As someone who grew up in Minnesota, witnessing what is happening right now is truly heartbreaking. Minnesota has always been a deeply special place, rooted in community and care for one another. The actions unfolding are having devastating effects on families and neighborhoods, and the long-term impact on the community will be felt for years to come.
Immigration can be a deeply vulnerable experience. For many individuals and families, it carries layers of fear, uncertainty, trauma, and disruption to safety, health, and stability. Whether someone is facing detention, deportation proceedings, housing insecurity, family separation, or emotional distress, no one should navigate these challenges alone.
Minnesota is home to a strong network of organizations dedicated to protecting the dignity, safety, and human rights of immigrant and refugee communities. These resources provide legal protection, advocacy, emergency support, healthcare access, and community connection. If you or someone you know is experiencing the harmful effects of immigration enforcement or instability, these services can offer guidance, protection, and hope.

How Speech Therapy and Counseling Work Together to Support Families
At Well Mind Body, we believe healing and growth don’t happen in isolation. Sometimes supporting a healthy mind and body also means supporting the ways we communicate. That’s why we’re so grateful for community partners like Space City Speech, led by Courtney Scaggs, CCC-SLP, COM®.
PANS & PANDAS: What Parents Need to Know and How to Support Your Child
When your child suddenly changes and starts to present with severe anxiety, tics, obsessive behaviors, or personality shifts, it can feel frightening and confusing. For some families, these sudden changes may be linked to PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) or PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections).
These conditions are triggered by infections or inflammation in the body that affect the brain and nervous system. As a member of the PANS Advisory Council (PANSAC) for the State of Texas, I am deeply committed to helping families understand these conditions and access the right support.

We hear the word “depression” so often that many people have become desensitized to what it really means and how deeply it can affect our lives. In my recent guest appearance on the Intelligence on the Rocks podcast, I had the chance to talk with Lizzy about why it’s so important to truly understand depression, how it shows up in the body, and why healing requires more than just a prescription or pep talk.
