Why Showing Up Matters: Reflections from My Visit to The Parish School
Last Friday was a meaningful reminder of why presence matters. I had the privilege of spending the morning at The Parish School, connecting with educators, clinicians, and other professionals who share a deeply aligned mission: supporting children and families with compassion, expertise, and heart.
From the moment I arrived, it was obvious how thoughtful and purposeful the work at The Parish School is. The conversations were practical, collaborative, and focused on what truly supports kids. It was a strong reminder that helping children and families is not something any of us can do alone. Real progress happens when educators, therapists, physicians, and community partners come together to share information, compare perspectives, and strengthen one another’s work.
Here at Well Mind Body, we love collaborating with other clinicians, schools, and community partners so we can support families to the very best of our ability. We understand the unique challenges that come with raising children with special needs, learning differences, or complex emotional needs. When we join forces with other professionals who truly care, we create a stronger, more connected network of support for the families we serve.
In a world where children are navigating increasing levels of stress, neurodiversity, communication challenges, and emotional overwhelm, collaboration isn’t optional, it’s essential. When we work together, we are able to weave a safety net that holds kids more gently and empowers families to feel seen, supported, and understood.
My morning at The Parish School left me feeling inspired, grateful, and energized about the partnerships within our Houston community. These are the moments that remind me why I do what I do and why showing up, even in small ways, makes a difference.
I am thankful to be part of thoughtful spaces like this and to stay connected to those who are doing meaningful, heart-forward work every day.
