Frequently Asked Questions

Well Mind Body: Frequently Asked Questions

At Well Mind Body Integrative Psychotherapy & Wellness, we understand that starting therapy often comes with lots of questions. Below you’ll find answers to our most common FAQs about counseling services, payment, insurance, confidentiality, and how we support clients in Houston and beyond.

Important: Well Mind Body is a non-crisis, non-emergency outpatient private practice. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately. For urgent support, see our list of Texas crisis resources below.

Do you accept insurance?

At Well Mind Body, we do not accept or file insurance directly. However, we provide superbills through your secure client portal, which you may submit to your insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement.

To find out if you have out-of-network mental health coverage, call the number on the back of your insurance card. If you need help navigating this process, our team is happy to guide you.

Do you bill at the time of service?

Yes. Payment is due at the time of service. We require a credit card on file before your first appointment; all information is encrypted and stored securely in our HIPAA-compliant software.

We accept all credit cards and checks. Each client is responsible for managing the financial aspects of their psychotherapy relationship.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your session time is reserved for you. Sessions must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. Sessions not canceled within 24 hours will be billed in full.

Do you offer in-person or telehealth sessions?

Yes, we offer flexibility to meet your needs.

  • In-person therapy: at our welcoming Houston office:
    📍 3801 Kirby Drive, Suite 344, Houston, TX 77098

  • Telehealth sessions: available through HIPAA-compliant video software for clients anywhere in Texas.

Most sessions last 50 minutes unless otherwise noted by your clinician.

How do you protect my confidentiality?

Confidentiality is central to our practice. We follow strict HIPAA guidelines and will never share your protected health information without your consent.

If you’d like us to collaborate with another healthcare provider, we will ask you to sign a release of information form first.

Will you share clinical information via email or text?

No. To protect your privacy, we do not share any clinical or personal information by email or text. Clients are asked to use the secure client portal for all communications with their therapist.

Do you offer walk-in appointments?

No. We see clients by appointment only to ensure dedicated time for every individual, couple, or family we serve.

What are your office hours?

We are open Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
Weekend inquiries will be returned on the next business day.

How can I book an appointment?

We also offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to help you find the right therapist for your needs.

Do you provide psychotherapy via email, text, or voicemail?

No. For your confidentiality and security, we do not offer psychotherapy via email, text, or voicemail. These channels are only used for brief administrative contact (e.g., scheduling).

At Well Mind Body, we do not communicate with clients about clinical matters through text messaging. Texting is not HIPAA-compliant and does not provide the level of privacy and security that your personal health information deserves. Because your confidentiality is our highest priority, all communication about scheduling, therapy, and personal matters must take place through our secure client portal or during your session. This ensures that your information is always protected with the highest standards of care.

Do you provide emergency services?

No. We do not provide emergency or crisis services. If you are in crisis:

  • Call 911 if you are in immediate danger.

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Dial 988 for 24/7 support.

  • Crisis Text Line: Text HELLO to 741741.

  • Crisis Intervention of Houston Hotline: Call 713-468-5463.

  • Harris Center Crisis Line (Houston area): Call 713-970-7000.

  • Texas Health & Human Services 24/7 Hotline: Call 1-800-422-2956.

Your safety matters. Please use these resources if you are in urgent need.

Can you refill prescriptions for psychiatric medications?

No. We currently do not have psychiatrists on staff. However, we are happy to provide referrals to trusted psychiatric providers if you need medication management.

How do I know if a therapist at Well Mind Body is right for me?
