I’m Alberta Totz, JD, LPC, a licensed professional counselor in Houston, Texas, and proud wife and mother of three. My professional journey began in law. I earned my Juris Doctorate (JD) and practiced as an attorney for several years. But my lifelong passion for understanding the human mind and supporting others led me back to my true calling: psychotherapy.

Today, I bring the skills I gained in law, listening deeply, navigating complex challenges, and advocating for others, into my work as a counselor. My approach blends psychoanalytic insight, relational therapy, and integrative mind-body perspectives to help clients create meaningful change.

My Approach

I believe that healing happens in safe, supportive relationships. As a therapist, I create space for clients to explore not just current struggles, but also the deeper stories and patterns that may be shaping their lives. Whether working with individuals, couples, or groups, my goal is to empower clients to move forward with clarity, strength, and resilience.
