Confident Girls Summer Group: Helping Girls Build Confidence, Friendship Skills, and Emotional Strength
The middle school years can be exciting, but they can also be one of the most emotionally challenging stages of development for girls. Friendships begin to change, social pressures increase, and many girls start to question themselves in ways they never have before.
Our Confident Girls Summer Group at Well Mind Body Integrative Psychotherapy & Wellness was created to help girls navigate this stage with greater confidence, resilience, and emotional awareness.
Led by Zoe Sheehan, LPC-Associate, a therapist who specializes in working with children and teens, this small group offers a supportive and engaging environment where girls can learn important life skills alongside peers their age.
Over three mornings, girls will participate in interactive activities, discussions, and skill-building exercises designed to help them better understand themselves and feel more confident navigating friendships, stress, and everyday challenges.
This is not a lecture-style program. It is a fun, supportive, and engaging experience where girls can connect with others while learning practical tools they can use immediately.
Participants will learn practical skills that support emotional health and confidence, including:
• Understanding stress and anxiety
• Tools to calm the mind and body during overwhelming moments
• How thoughts influence emotions and confidence
• Communication and friendship skills
• Setting healthy boundaries
• Managing social pressure and peer conflict
• Building self-confidence and recognizing personal strengths
Girls will leave the program with tools they can use at school, in friendships, and in everyday life.
Who Is the Best Candidate for the Confident Girls Group?
This group is ideal for girls ages 11–14 who would benefit from extra support in building confidence and navigating the social and emotional challenges of middle school.
A girl may be a great fit for this group if she:
Is Navigating Friendship Challenge
Many girls experience shifting friend groups, social tension, or uncertainty about where they fit in. This group helps girls strengthen communication skills and learn how to build healthy friendships.
Experiences Stress or Anxiety
Girls who worry about school, social situations, or expectations often benefit from learning practical coping tools that help them manage anxious thoughts and emotions.
Struggles with Self-Confidence
Some girls begin to doubt themselves during the middle school years. This program helps girls recognize their strengths and develop a healthier sense of self-confidence.
Is Entering or Adjusting to Middle School
Transitions such as starting middle school or changing schools can feel overwhelming. This group provides tools that make those transitions easier.
Would Benefit from Positive Peer Support
One of the most powerful aspects of group work is realizing “I’m not the only one who feels this way.” Girls often feel relieved and encouraged when they connect with peers facing similar experiences.
Why Group Support Can Be So Powerful
While individual therapy is helpful for many children, group settings offer something unique: the opportunity to practice social and emotional skills in real time with peers.
Girls learn not only from the facilitator, but also from one another. They gain perspective, practice communication, and develop confidence in a supportive environment.
These early emotional skills can support mental health, relationships, and self-confidence for years to come.
