Finding Strength Together: Why a Women’s Divorce & Empowerment Group Can Change Everything

Divorce is more than a legal process, it’s an emotional, mental, and spiritual transformation. For many women, it can feel like the ground has shifted beneath them. Even when the decision is right, the uncertainty that follows can be isolating and overwhelming. That’s where joining our group support can make all the difference.

At Well Mind Body Integrative Psychotherapy & Wellness, our Women’s Divorce & Empowerment Group, led by Alberta Totz, JD, LPC, offers a compassionate, judgment-free space to process, rebuild, and grow stronger together. Whether you’re considering divorce, navigating it, or finding your footing afterward, the group provides structure, validation, and connection during one of life’s hardest transitions.

You Don’t Have to Go Through It Alone

Divorce can feel incredibly isolating, especially when friends or family don’t fully understand your experience. Group therapy creates a community of women who “get it”—women who have faced similar challenges and can offer support and understanding that friends often can’t. Shared stories can spark healing, hope, and perspective.

Emotional Clarity and Perspective

Divorce is an emotional rollercoaster. One moment, you may feel empowered and free; the next, grief or fear can resurface. Guided by a trained therapist, group members learn tools for emotional regulation, self-compassion, and perspective-taking. Processing these emotions with others can reduce shame and help you see patterns more clearly, opening the door to insight and growth.

Empowerment Through Knowledge

Because Alberta Totz brings both her legal background and clinical expertise, participants gain not only emotional support but also practical tools for setting boundaries, co-parenting, and advocating for themselves with clarity and confidence. Knowledge is power and learning to navigate both the inner and outer aspects of divorce restores that sense of control.

Rebuilding Identity and Self-Worth

Divorce often brings identity questions: Who am I now? What does this next chapter look like? Group work provides a safe space to explore those questions. Through reflection, discussion, and gentle guidance, members rediscover their strengths, values, and sense of purpose. Many women leave the group feeling more grounded, self-assured, and hopeful about what’s ahead.

A Message from Alberta Totz, JD, LPC

“This group was created as a calm, judgment-free space to catch your breath, make sense of the swirl, and rebuild confidence one small step at a time. As both a former attorney and a therapist, I understand the legal and emotional layers of divorce. You don’t have to navigate them alone.”
